February 14, 2019 at 6:28 pmI was also troubled by sleep interruptions, making me tired and cranky during the day. I never had had sleep problems before my CVA. I focused on sleep hygiene, e,g,, going to bed each night at the same time, making a ritual of bedtime (brush teeth, wash face, smooth bed sheets, etc.), turning thermostat down to 68F, kicking pets out of bedroom, turning on some background white noise, using diffuser to fill bedroom with calming scents …. After doing all this religiously for three months, the interruptions really lessened. Not completely, but I usually now can achieve 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, Now I feel more human during the day and my daytime energy levels have increased. What worked for me may not work for you, but sharing in case you can glean some ideas. Good luck, Joyce!
